“Hello creative and talented people, my name is Corey but Im known as “Truth” or “V-Truth” to those that know me as a recording/mix engineer. I started out in music as an artist, my stage name is Veracity. I’ve had a love for music since very young, actually I was born into it thinking back. From church choirs, stand up poetry, music classes, peers, and family members apart of/headed to that industry, I was writing lyrics at 5 years old. I dipped and dabbled back and forth with different areas of music throughout life (producing, beats, rapping, poetry, choir, learning instruments) I then took it serious around the age of 14 or 15 as an rap artist. There were many talented artist where I grew up so I started a neighborhood studio believing in us whole heartedly seeing a vision past the current circumstances of that time. After working with 100’s of artist and 1000’s of recorded tracks my love for music was undeniable. I feel in love with the creation process and by being an artist first, I’m able to take myself outside of technical mode easily and be creative with producing and mix choices based upon the song adding a vibe/flavor outside of just balance, loudness, and crispy clean mixes. Before I learned professional techniques that a lot of us use today to achieve similar sounds, I have years of experience using tools sticky by ear, trial and error of what sounds good and what doesn’t, when to use it vs when not to, etc. I was forced to be creative to achieve similar sounds without proper training thus forcing me to pick up creative techniques producing unique sonics. After learning the mainstream way to mix and make music, I’ve ended up here trying to give back to the community with affordable higher quality sounds, tips, tricks, and just musical “juice” in general. I’m here to stay and want to pass down my experiences to the upcoming generation in music.”
